Kithira preserve their picturesqueness, his special physiognomy and traditional character. The island together with Antikithira, compose the southest Ionian islands. Kithira is the most well-known from ancient times, as the island of Aphrodite. It was emigrated and conquered repeatedly from Minoites, Mycenaes, Phoenicians, Spartans, Athenians, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, Russians, Frenchmen and English. So, the island is reach and present important sights of ancient times, Byzantine churches and the old Byzantine city (Paleochora), that was destroyed in 1537 from Barbarossa. The island is provided with fantastic change of landscapes, clean blue purple beaches, mountain and sea caves. Also the climate of the island is mild with significant sunlight that cover the biggest part of the year.
